What is Auction House Arbitrage?

Arbitrage is the practice of exploiting price differences for the same item across different markets. In World of Warcraft, each realm has its own auction house with unique supply and demand - which means the same item can have wildly different prices on different servers.

With the introduction of the Warbank system, you can now transfer most items between realms in the same region completely free. This opened up incredible opportunities for savvy traders to profit from these price differences.

Step-by-Step Guide

1

Choose Your Region

Start by selecting your region in the app (US, EU, KR, or TW). Important: Warbank transfers only work within a region - you cannot transfer items from US to EU servers.

💡 Pick the region where you have the most characters with gold to invest.
2

Browse Opportunities

GoldRush displays all profitable arbitrage opportunities, sorted by ROI (Return on Investment). Each listing shows you:

  • Buy From: The realm where the item is cheap
  • Sell On: The realm where the item sells for more
  • Profit: Your actual profit after the 5% AH cut
  • ROI: Percentage return on your investment
3

Use Smart Filters

Narrow down opportunities based on your preferences:

  • Min Profit %: Only show items with X% or higher ROI
  • Category: Focus on specific item types (Gems, Consumables, etc.)
  • Price Range: Filter by your available gold
  • Specific Realms: Lock buy/sell to realms where you have characters
💡 Start with 50%+ ROI to find the best deals, then lower as needed.
4

Buy on the Cheap Realm

Log into a character on the "Buy From" realm. Search for the item on the Auction House and purchase it at or near the listed price. Click the item row in GoldRush to copy the item name for easy searching.

Always verify the current price before buying - prices can change between updates!
5

Deposit into Warbank

Visit any bank in the game and access your Warband Bank (the special account-wide tabs). Deposit the items you purchased. They're now accessible from any character in the same region!

💡 Not all items can go in Warbank - soulbound and some special items are restricted.
6

Sell on the Target Realm

Log into a character on the "Sell On" realm. Withdraw items from your Warbank and list them on that realm's Auction House. Consider pricing slightly below the shown price for faster sales.

💰 Congratulations! You've just completed an arbitrage trade. Collect your gold!

Pro Tips

1

Check Stock Levels

Items with low stock on the sell realm often indicate consistent demand. High stock on the buy realm means you can scale up your operation.

2

Verify Before Buying

Our data updates every 30 minutes. Always check the actual AH price before purchasing - fast-moving items can change quickly.

3

Consider Competition

If an opportunity looks too good, others may have spotted it too. Unique or niche items often provide more consistent profits.

4

Time Your Sales

Prices fluctuate throughout the week. Raid reset days and weekends often see higher activity and potentially better selling prices.

5

Diversify Your Flips

Don't put all your gold into one item. Spread across multiple opportunities to reduce risk and maximize consistent returns.

6

Track Your Results

Keep a simple spreadsheet of your trades. This helps you identify which item categories and price ranges work best for you.

Common Questions

Is this against Blizzard's Terms of Service?

No! Using the Auction House and Warbank as intended is completely legitimate gameplay. We simply display publicly available price data - all trading is done by you, manually, in-game.

Do I need characters on multiple realms?

Yes, you'll need at least one character on the buy realm and one on the sell realm. Many players focus on specific realm pairs where they already have characters with gold.

What items can be transferred via Warbank?

Most tradeable, non-soulbound items work. This includes crafting materials, consumables, gems, pets, mounts, and many gear pieces. Soulbound items and some special currencies cannot be transferred.

Why do prices differ between realms?

Supply and demand! High-population realms often have more sellers (lower prices), while niche or RP servers may have fewer suppliers. Server economy history, raiding activity, and player demographics all play a role.

How accurate is the price data?

We pull directly from Blizzard's official API every 30 minutes. The data is as accurate as Blizzard provides, but prices can change between updates due to player activity.
